This is the first review categorised under ‘chip shops’. Good or bad, they go here as chips can be the only thing a veggie might want to eat, and getting good chips can be a big gamble. Sidwell Street Fish and Chips has the honour of being the first Chippy to be mentioned here as it does actually have good chips.
The chips have to be crunchy on the outside and nice, hot and moist on the inside. They also have to look like chips, not bits of leftover potato, and they have to look like chips too so a naturally golden colour not an artificle yellow colour.
Located next to Sidwell Methodist church, it is ran by a Greek family who also offer Kebabs and a few Greek specials with the usual plethora of fish / meat related offerings. There is one type of portion and it is resonably priced at £1.2o, they look like potatos and they are potato coloured and they taste like proper chips.
Most importantly for veggies, the chips are cooked in their own oil and do not share the same oil as the fish. Ideal muchie busting goodness.
