Are you vegetarian? have you decided that going out to eat in restaurants in Exeter/Devon can be more hassle then its worth? Then you obviously think the same as me, and can understand why I set up this website.

My name is Chris Gower and I am a vegetarian.  I really hate restaurants that don’t think about their menu’s and realise that society is more varied and diverse then it was thirty years ago.  Gone are the days when Chef had to cook up a special meal for vegetarians, but have they really gone? 

I am not here to review veggie restaurants, as that is not the point.  My aim is to review ‘normal’ restaurants and show you how friendly, or unfriendly they are to vegetarians.  Where I can make a note of exactly what they have to offer, I will. But often these things are best discovered at your own risk.
I look at chip shops and cafe’s too, and see where they might go wrong, pubs and anywhere a vegetarian has to decide on something over something else, anywhere where a vegetarian has to ask ‘is that vegetarian?’
I also look at general vegetarianism and the lifestyle, news and ‘foraging’ being buying ingredients and where to get really good quality stuff.  Any thoughts or feedback then please leave a comment.
I am aiming to keep this relatively free of polemic and the usual veggie rhetoric, everyone’s reasons for becoming vegetarian is different, so I will not pry in to the realms of animal cruelty or other campaigns, merely to report and observe.
